My first big project of 2024 was to design some business cards for a small restaurant located in Barnsley called The Secret Italian, upon further research I noticed that thy didn’t really have a brand identity, to which I decided I will create them one in order to help the small business stand out in the crowd..
The idea was to create a simple but effective design which could easily be transferred across different forms of media allowing for everything to all be connected and consistent. After many hours of working on the logo I finally settled on a classy but modern combination of typefaces, which work together to give some personality into this brand.
Along with the pattern which is a collection of different Italian foods this asset serves as a backdrop which can help elevate the whole entire look and works to add some personality into the whole look.



The Logo
Combining a script and serif typeface, I crafted a logo that exudes warmth and friendliness, perfectly reflecting the restaurant's personality. The addition of the Italian flag adds a subtle yet striking element, helping to balance the design while honouring the restaurant’s roots
Business Cards
The cards were meticulously redesigned as an upgrade from the previous version, focusing on both aesthetics and functionality. In this updated design, I streamlined the customer experience by combining the TripAdvisor and Facebook pages into a single, unified QR code.
This thoughtful integration simplifies the process for customers, allowing them to effortlessly leave a review or follow the business with just one quick scan. By reducing clutter and enhancing accessibility, the new design not only looks sleek but also improves interaction, making it easier than ever for customers to engage with the business online.
Advertising
In the advertising, I focused on keeping the brand colours consistent and maintaining a cohesive theme across all platforms. Each design was optimised for social media, incorporating eye-catching images of their food, standout customer reviews, and key information. This approach ensured that the visuals reinforced the brand’s identity while effectively engaging audiences online.
