While developing the Ocean One app, it was essential to integrate features that would keep users engaged and informed about the mission's progress. One key feature was a real-time news feed that provides updates on ocean conservation efforts, project milestones, and global environmental news. This ensures users stay connected with the cause and feel actively involved in the ongoing journey to protect marine life.
Additionally, I aimed to create an interactive and rewarding experience by introducing a recycling reward system. Users can log each instance of recycling plastic into designated bins through the app, earning points for their eco-friendly actions. These points accumulate over time and can be redeemed for gift vouchers, offering tangible incentives for sustainable behaviour. This system not only motivates users to adopt responsible waste disposal habits but also fosters a sense of personal contribution to a larger environmental mission.
By combining education, real-time updates, and meaningful rewards, the Ocean One app bridges awareness with action, empowering users to make a measurable impact on ocean conservation.
